Today is travelling day again from Burleson Tx to the trailer in Pharr Tx
Left around 8AM traffic good except for after Waco and before the bypass around Austin.
A fairly long area of construction which makes driving difficult. Only a couple of incidents
where assholes decided to change lanes with inches to spare. Raises the blood pressure
temporarily that's for sure. Good thing I am always anticipating.
Once we got onto 130 which is the toll bypass around Austin and takes us almost to San Antonio, all was good. Speed limit for most of it is 85 MPH. Road is deteriorating a bit though since it was first built not that many years ago, but still the best way for us to go.
Took highway 123 which is a two lane with several passing lanes, which is a nice relaxing drive with decent scenery.
We had to make a stop when we got to Edinburgh, to straighten the property tax department who claimed we were in arrears. We had all the documentation to show them they were wrong. They only show a box number on their documents, so we had a heck of a time trying to find the right place to go. When we got there, they already knew they screwed up and blamed it on their system...that's for sure!
There was a massive lineup for people trying to renew their drivers licences. Had to be a line of at least 100...crazy...but apparently the only way to do it.
Our renters left the trailer in excellent condition. We went to HEB and got groceries for a light supper and breakfast...larger shop tomorrow.
Dead tired from all the driving...temperature here 32
more later....
